New York: 2004

On September 18, 2004 I left Phoenix to go to NYC for almost four months to work as an "intern" for my company. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I am going to post some of my journal entries here...

Day 2
Got my ID badge. Met the group leader of my department and saw many, many cops as Bush, Kerry AND the U.N. all were in town. The streets are closed and sirens are always blaring.

The noise outside of the buildings is so loud... it's like we are in steel and glass cocoons--impervious to all, that is until we step outside.

The weather has been perfect. New York in the Fall... need I say more?

Bummer...just found out that the POA meeting will be held over my birthday... my 40th... Kerry is bummed too... she had some special things planned... 12:45AM--bed time.

The point is this: NYC is a wonderland.

Hi Papa,

I understand your feelings about the over crowded, overly noisy, but, most exciting city in the world...when I used to go there, I could feel the electricity emminating from every human, vehicle and building --people ask why I've never desired to go to Las Vegas -- my answer Why? The most exciting city in the world used to be my playground... Joan B.
